PV System Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

As a PV System Engineer you will be responsible for complete engineering and design of solar power plants located at Italy and EMEA region.

Primary responsibilities

  • Complete System Design including: system specification, engineering services, system design documentation reviewing and drafting including, but not limited to, PV Layouts and Electrical Diagrams in accordance with electrical, mechanical and civil International and Local standards,
  • Create and review electrical schematics, wire sizing, determine quantities, select components and specify all components to provide the optimal configuration,
  • Technical support for tender preparation,
  • Support component evaluation, specification and selection based on cost vs. performance benefit,
  • Technical support for RFQ preparation and evaluation,
  • Review contract technical requirements and prepare requirements tracking mechanism.
  • Ensure compliance with technical requirements and facilitate close out of open issues,
  • Implementation of juwi’s system design standards and optimizations,
  • Document control maintain engineering folder structure and prepare document registers, submission of final engineering package to end customer,
  • Technical support on FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) & SAT (Site Acceptance Tests), conduct associated inspections and witness tests,
  • On-site verification of installation & testing in accordance with design, internal procedures, regulations, standards and codes,
  • Grid access and connection discussions/approval,
  • Compliance to juwi standards and to regional standards and regulations,
  • Ensure seamless technical documentation of PV power plants,
  • Technical advisory and technical support for Project Development, Project Management, Operation & Maintenance, Sales and Project Finance departments.
     

Candidate requirements

juwi is looking for the following qualifications, experience and personal attributes:

  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering. Must have signature right.
  • 5 years’ working experience in large scale PV plant design or in Italian power industry.
  • Experience in design of large scale PV Plants connected at high voltage grid is appreciated.
  • Good understanding of MV / HV Grid Code at PV Plants’ design.
  • Civil / mechanical engineering background is appreciated.
  • Excellent command of MS Office, AutoCAD, PVSyst.
    Fluent in Italian and in English (written and spoken).
  • Sharp analytical & problem solving skills.
  • Strong drive & true team spirit.
  • Willing to travel locally and internationally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in matrix organizations, to operate and to navigate in a multinational environment.

Project Development Manager (m/f/d)

About the role

As a Project Development Manager (m/f/d) you are responsible for managing all phases of solar project development, including the identification, evaluation and realization of projects. The position reports to the Head of Project Development.

Primary responsibilities

  • Manage the entire project development process from site selection to completion of development,
  • Management of project planning development also by engaging external technical consultants,
  • Conduct detailed technical assessments of sites and projects being mindful of environmental and technical considerations,
  • Perform technical due diligence of projects, as appropriate,
  • Work with local authorities to obtain planning permits, licenses and clearances as well as other necessary documentations such as planning and construction permission, environmental impact assessments and grid connection studies with internal and external service providers,
  • Develop and maintain necessary personal networks to stakeholders at different levels.
  • Close interaction with specialized departments in the juwi Group, in particular concerning system design, construction, procurement, business development, project acquisition and project management,
  • Budgetary responsibility for specific projects,
  • To provide regular business updates on project progress,
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of Project Development.

Candidate requirements

juwi is looking for the following qualifications, experience and personal attributes:

  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture or similar technical from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 2 - 3 years’ experience in PV-project development and management.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Italian renewable energy market and current legislation.
  • Good understanding of utility regulatory environment and renewable energy business.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize competing time demands.
  • Self-directed with ability to work well / seamlessly with a larger team, including outside sales, design / electrical, interconnecting utility and host customer personnel.
  • Experience of CAD software, MS project and the office suite of programs in general.
  • English upper intermediate level.
  • Ability to travel often.

Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Supply Chain Manager (m/f/d)

About the role

juwi Italy is a growing market player with an aggressive expansion target over the medium term. In this context the successful candidate will have responsibilities within different areas or departments of the operational business, while it is anticipated will increasingly focus on one of these core responsibilities as the business develops. 

juwi is a matrix organization with presence in many countries, and as such your direct line manager will be the MD of juwi Italy and your functional reporting will be to Heads of the relevant EMEA Operations Departments.

The key areas of focus are on O&M commercial and technical management, and support of various supply chain activities. 

In general, it is expected that you will comply with and implement juwi processes and standards. We also anticipate a close working relationship between the successful candidate and both finance and development/sales.

Primary responsibilities as O&M Manager (m/f/d):

  • Oversee the local O&M activities and manage the local O&M employees & main subcontractors, 
  • Manage commercial O&M issues, including relations and negotiations with customers, 
  • Management of O&M solar portfolio, including performance management, 
  • Scouting and evaluating potential O&M subcontractors, 
  • Set up and continuously improve O&M processes, in line with EMEA processes, 
  • Attract new customers, O&M contracts and other related opportunities (revamping projects, sales of spare parts, additional services, etc), 
  • Manage the profitability of the O&M function of juwi Italy, planning & implementing initiatives (in coordination with the MD of juwi Italy and the Head of O&M EMEA) to improve this.

Primary responsibilities as Supply Chain Manager (m/f/d):

  • Support the local Supply Chain Manager for O&M procurement, and local procurement (for example civil and electrical subcontractors) for EPC projects,
  • Ensure, that goods and services are purchased on a cost-quality optimized basis with suitable terms for delivery, cost, payments and quality and to meet the project milestones,
  • Set up and manage a network of local suppliers and subcontractors for our EPC projects in Italy,
  • Manage inquiries, quotations and ordering process including tracking of order fulfilment for each project,
  • Lead the negotiation of contract terms and pricing based on existing contract templates and in close cooperation with other involved departments,
  • Manage the contracts, control of milestones and implement necessary steps to ensure the compliance with milestones,
  • Close cooperation with project purchasers and lead buyers in juwi headquarter in Germany and other juwi subsidiaries,
  • Support PM and Construction team in handling supplier variations, change orders etc.

Candidate requirements

juwi is looking for the following qualifications, experience and personal attributes:

  • University Degree in Engineering - Management studies at a post-graduate level will be considered a plus.
  • Experience in the management of O&M service of solar / renewable energy projects, from both the technical and commercial perspective.
  • Experience in managing / negotiating with customers
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with suppliers and with subcontractors, preferred in civil and/or electrical segment.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Project & MS Office.
  • Fluent in Italian and in English (verbal & writing).
  • Excellent communication skills: able to communicate across levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability of working autonomously, decision making and problem solving. 
  • Team player with evident leadership qualities.
  • Willing to travel frequently, locally and internationally, and stay on site.
  • Demonstrable ability to work in matrix organizations and to operate in a culturally diverse international environment.
