A novelty in this project is the technical design: for the first time, juwi has realized a solar PV park in Greece with 1,500 volts. This allows system costs to be reduced, for example for inverters, junction boxes and cables, thus making solar power even more affordable.

The juwi group continues its successful development in Greece: In central Greece, near the town of Karditsa, juwi completed a solar farm for ATEN, a subsidiary of Hellenic Petroleum Renewable Energy Sources S.A. HELPE RES, in October2018. Already in 2017 and 2018, juwi had built and commissioned three solar parks with a total capacity of 8.6 megawatts for the Greek energy company. In less than four months, juwi constructed the ATEN park with more than 27,000 solar modules on a 14-hectare area and connected it to the grid on October 18. With an annual production of 13,500 megawatt hours of electricity, the park saves around 8,800 tons of CO2 per year compared to a conventional power plant.
