Record wind turbine with a total height of 241 meters

Near the small town of Kröppen, southwest of Pirmasens (Rhineland-Palatinate), juwi has commissioned the tallest wind turbine in the German state, at 241 meters. The turbine from the Danish manufacturer Vestas has an installed capacity of 4.2 megawatts. In total, the Wörrstadt-based project developer erected two V-150 wind turbines in Kröppen; the lower of the two has a total height of 220 meters. As of today, the wind farm in the southernmost corner of Rhineland-Palatinate, not far from the French border, contributes to the climate-friendly energy supply of the region with an electricity production of 23.5 million kilowatt hours per year and supplies around 7,800 households with clean electricity.
